The National Coordinator of Social Movement for Good Governance, Prince Temienor Oghenekevwe has said that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's national broadcast in response to the #EndBadGovernance and #Hunger protest was "a disappointment to Nigerians who believe in good governance as the way forward from the socioeconomic woes facing the nation".
Temienor stated that "the President has goofed for not addressing the current fuel price, infrastructural deficit, security and the depreciating Naira".
These were contained in a statement signed by Prince Temienor Oghenekevwe, copies of which were made available to journalists in Warri, Delta State on Sunday.
The statement partly reads, "The speech was a total disconnection from reality, blame trading, and unnecessary glorification of failure to deliver good governance.
"The President has gone from renewed hope to renewed discourage, despair and hopeless, it is clearing the president is comfortable seeing Nigerians suffer while he remained adamant and unlistening to the call on him to reduce Fuel proce, revisit his economic policies and confront poverty.
"The speech was vague, empty and mere cosmetic exercise. It did not address the demands of Nigerians as the main proponent of the protesters.
"It is regrettable that issue of high cost of living, governance, corruption, and questionable amd controversial removal of subsidies on petroleum products. He cleverly neglected critical issues.
"We are not happy, Nigerians are not asking for too much, good governance is a must, the people deserve it".
