Media practitioners of Ndokwa extraction, operating under the umbrella of the Ndokwa Media Professionals Forum (NMPF), have called for stronger unity among Ndokwa leaders and accelerated development of critical infrastructure across Ndokwa land.

The call was contained in a communiqué issued at the conclusion of the Forum’s end-of-year meeting held on Monday, December 15, 2025.

In the communiqué, the Forum stressed the need for Ndokwa leaders and stakeholders to close ranks and speak with one voice on issues of collective interest, irrespective of political or partisan affiliations. According to the NMPF, unity of purpose remains a fundamental prerequisite for sustainable development, equity, and inclusive growth in Ndokwa communities.

The Forum also expressed concern over the slow take-off of the Federal University of Medical and Health Sciences, Kwale, attributing the delay to the inadequacy of existing facilities.

It called on the Delta State Government, Ndokwa local government councils, and other relevant stakeholders to urgently provide the enabling environment and critical infrastructure necessary for the effective commencement and long-term sustainability of the institution.

On infrastructure development, the Forum underscored the urgent need for comprehensive electrification of Ndokwa land, describing stable electricity supply as a catalyst for socio-economic growth, improved security, and investment attraction.

While acknowledging ongoing and proposed road projects, the NMPF urged sustained government commitment towards the completion, expansion, and maintenance of strategic road networks in the area. These include the ongoing Ndemili–Utagbe-Uno Road, as well as the Ogume–Abbi, Aboh–Akarai, and Amai–Aragba roads.

The Forum reaffirmed its commitment to responsible journalism, constructive engagement, and sustained advocacy, pledging to continue using the media as a platform for public enlightenment, accountability, and the promotion of good governance in the overall interest of the Ndokwa people.

The communiqué was jointly signed by the Chairman of the Forum, Mr. Barth Ozah, and the Secretary, Odili Ogochukwu.
