By Ezekiel Kagbala
A senatorial aspirant for Delta South Senatorial District for the National Assembly (NASS), election come 2023, Mr. Michael Diden fondly called Ejele, allegedly escape from the hands of irate youths of Burutu local government area of Delta State.
It was reliably gathered that Ejele, who is the Chairman, Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), was in Burutu LGA for a meeting of the Peoples' Democratic Party (PDP), to consult with them ahead of the party primaries.
FocalPoint Reports reliably confirmed from the PDP Chairman who revealed that Ejele was not attacked but one of the angry youth was bent on asking questions at the end of the meeting, the coordinator of the meeting refused to take his questions after closing prayers and Burutu PDP welcomed Ejele.
A source who pleaded anonymity revealed that it took the intervention of stakeholders to rescue Ejele, from the hands of the angry youths who were bent on causing mayhem.
Trouble started on Saturday, March 19th 2022, when Ejele who doubles as the Chairman of Delta Political Vanguard (DPV), a political group purportedly supporting the anointed aspirant of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, for Governor allegedly angered stakeholders of Burutu.
A Source present at the meeting said, "Ejele came to consult us for his senatorial ambition, but failed to also tell us if he will support any of our Ijaw sons as Governor".
Delta South currently has three Aspirants, which are Senator James Manager, The deputy Governor, Barr. Kingsley Otuaro and a former Commissioner for Agriculture in the state, Braduce Angozi.
It was gathered that Trouble started when some youths leaders Tamar Forteta, Ayapaye Brendan and Ebi Agbor raised their hands to ask him (Ejele) if he would support an ijaw son to be Governor, since he is aspiring to take over the seat the ijaw people currently holds.
It was learnt that the youths who were not given the opportunity to speak, turned the meeting to a war zone, forcing Ejele, to take to his heels.
“I can authoritatively tell you that the meeting ended in a free for all and also abruptly" a source, said.
Another source disclosed that, the trio of tamar, Agbor and Brendan where not invited to the said meeting as it was a gathering of caucus of the leaders in the LGA.
The source also accused them of playing to the gallery of a top governorship aspirant in the state.
