Akiefa Hails Oborevwori as 31km Bomadi-Ohoror Road Sparks New Hope in Riverine Delta

The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Delta State on Security Matters, Frank Akiefa, has commended Sheriff Oborevwori for the successful commissioning of the 31-kilometre Bomadi-Ohoror Road, describing the project as a transformative milestone for riverine communities in the state.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, Akiefa lauded the governor’s sustained commitment to infrastructure development, particularly in historically underserved riverine areas, noting that the project represents a significant shift in the development trajectory of the Niger Delta.
He emphasised that the newly completed road, which links communities across Bomadi, Patani, Burutu and Ughelli South Local Government Areas, would greatly enhance socio-economic activities, ease movement, and open up the region for increased economic opportunities.
According to Akiefa, the road had remained in a deplorable condition for several years, causing untold hardship for residents, traders and commuters who relied heavily on the route for daily activities. He noted that the completion of the project has now brought much-needed relief, improving connectivity within and beyond the affected local government areas.
“This 31-kilometre Bomadi-Ohoror Road links several communities and will positively impact people living in riverine areas. It further reinforces the governor’s strong interest in developing riverine communities that have long been neglected,” Akiefa stated.
He added that the Oborevwori administration’s broader infrastructure drive, including the planned completion of the long-delayed Ayakoromo Bridge project and the ongoing rehabilitation of the Bomadi-Gbaregolor Road, demonstrates a clear commitment to improving the welfare of Ijaw communities and Deltans at large.
Akiefa described the governor’s efforts as deliberate and people-oriented, stressing that such projects would not only improve transportation but also stimulate trade, agriculture, and overall economic growth in the riverine belt.
He further urged residents of the benefiting communities to support the state government’s development initiatives, noting that sustained collaboration between the government and the people is essential for long-term progress.
