Ikantu Recognized as Tenants to Odidi Communities in Ogbe-ljoh Warri Kingdom... Mamamu

In a recent statement, Chief Comrade Bené Youkore Mamamu, the leader in Ogbe-ljoh Warri Kingdom and Odidi Federated Communities has clarified the status of Ikantu people in relation to Odidi communities within the Ogbe-ljoh Warri Kingdom, stating that the land currently being occupied by people of Ikantu was allocated to them from Odidi community in Ogbe-ljoh Warri Kingdom.

His remarks come in response to a publication by the Ikantu Working Committee, which erroneously claimed that the Tekedor-Kusimi, Apala and Ugbanabou communities are under the jurisdiction of the Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State.

Mamamu in a statement he personally signed copies of which were made available to newsmen in Warri, on Thursday, said, "Members of Ikantu Working Committee are misguided and feeding the public with misleading information and malicious falsehood capable of causing tension in the area".

"For the records; Tekedor-Kusimi, Apala and Ugbanabou communities are under the jurisdiction of Ogbe-ljoh Warri Kingdom and not Gbaramatu Kingdom as erroneously claimed.

"Such provocative claims do not in any way promote their perceived interest in the Ward delineation exercise by the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC, rather Ogbe-ljoh Kingdom is at peace with every community and kingdom.

"We must ensure that the history and governance of our communities are accurately represented, as misinformation can lead to unnecessary tensions and misunderstandings."
