OHPRPH Urges Oborevwori to Focus on Housing, Healthcare Over Civil Servant Dress Code
The Organisation for Human and People's Rights Protection and Humanitarian (OHPRPH), has urged the Delta State governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori to prioritise pressing issues such as housing, healthcare, and transportation affordability over the recently debated dress code for civil servants and government workers.
In a statement released on Friday in Warri, by the acting public relations officer of the group, Comrade Mavelus Doboro emphasized that the core challenges facing civil servants in the state are not related to their attire and grooming but rather to the fundamental necessities of life which also relates to governance.
"The Delta State government should be more concerned with finding solutions and making housing, healthcare, and transport affordable for all Deltans," he asserted. "Governor Sheriff Oborevwori needs to deliver governance that addresses the real issues affecting lives of the people."
The call comes in response to ongoing review regarding dress code for civil servants, which some critics argue distracts from more significant socio-economic challenges. The Human rights organisation, OHPRPH pointed out that while maintaining professionalism in the workplace is important, it should not overshadow the urgent need for the government to tackle housing shortages and improve healthcare services.

Doboro stressed that, OHPRPH remains committed to advocating for the rights and welfare of the people, calling on the governor, RT Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori and his administration to prioritize the well-being of citizens over superficial policies, emphasizing that true governance is measured by the quality of life it provides to its people.
