Ugbajoh-Itsekiri UK Felicitates Olu of Warri, Distributes Palliatives to Communities

A sociocultural organization, Ugbajo-Itsekiri United Kingdom (UK) has distributed palliatives worth thousands of naira to some Itsekiri communities as part of their support for the commemoration of the third year coronation anniversary of the Olu of Warri, His Majesty, Ogiame Atuwatse III.
The palliatives which include bags of rice, beans and garri were presented to people of Egbokodo, Ifie-kporo and Aja-Etan Communities in Warri South Local government area on Tuesday, August 20th, 2024.
The presentation was done by the President of Ugbajo-Itsekiri United Kingdom, Mr. Mijebi Eyowoma and his team from the diaspora.
Speaking amidst the presentation to the various communities, the President of Ugbajo-Itsekiri United Kingdom, Mr. Mijebi Eyowoma noted that the initiative was "part of the organization's efforts to cushion the effect of hardship and also support the Itsekiris as they celebrate the Olu's coronation anniversary".
The gesture was highly celebrated by members of Egbokodo community as the team was received by the Olaraja (Traditional Head) of Egbokodo community, Chief Atiwa Amanoritsewor and a host of community leaders.
While receiving the items on behalf of the people of Egbokodo community, the traditional head, Chief Amanoritsewor appreciated the Ugbajo-Itsekiri UK just as he carried out traditional prayers for them.
He prayed that "Ugbajo-Itsekiri UK will continue to prosper and grow from strength to strength".
"May God continue to prosper all members of your team to become billionaires so that you will continue to elevate our people", the Chief added.
From Egbokodo, the Ugbajoh Itsekiri UK team immediately departed to Ifie-Kporo community with truck loads of food items where they met crowd of community residents eagerly awaiting their arrival to receive the palliatives.
Women and youths were visibly excited as the team commenced presentation of the items which were received by Mr. Toney Jackson, the financial secretary of the community and the Ifiekporo community Women leader, Madam Ogbe Okudani.
Mr. Toney lauded the Ugbajo-Itsekiri UK noting that the support came at the right time.
Ugbajo-Itsekiri UK also extended the gesture to Aja-Etan community where the president of Ugbajo-Itsekiri UK Mr. Mijebi explained that "the gesture is a two fold initiative, to support the people, particularly the elderly of Warri, on the occasion of the third coronation anniversary and also to support the needy in the area of cushioning the effect of hunger.
"We are calling on others to support the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III by reaching out to others", he said.
He commended the Olu of Warri for his peaceful reign and congratulated him on the successes he has so far achieved on the throne.
The Elder of Aja-Etan community, Mr. Jonathan Mene-Ejegi and Keneye Mene-Ejegi received the items on behalf of the community and appreciated the Ugbajoh Itsekiri United Kingdom for the gesture.
