As the annual Amaseikumor Festival 2025 enters its third day,  Oporoza town in the oil-rich Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, has been transformed into a melting pot of culture, unity, and celebration.

Since its kickoff on Saturday, April 19th, 2025, the festival has drawn participants from across the Niger Delta region and beyond, all coming together to foster bonds of peace and understanding through the rich tapestry of music, traditional attire, and communal spirit..

Yesterday was day three of the celebration, the GBARAUN EGBESU rites serve as a vibrant tapestry woven from the threads of tradition, culture, and faith, uniting the Gbaramatu people in a profound celebration of their heritage. On this significant day, the community comes alive with colorful displays of dance, music, and ritual, each element steeped in meaning and reverence. As participants don traditional attire and engage in age-old ceremonies, they pay homage to their ancestors, invoking the spirits that have guided and protected them through generations.

This sacred gathering not only reinforces their connection to the land but also fosters a sense of unity and identity among the people, as they collectively honor the legacies that shape their present and future.

These sacred rites are more than just a ceremony; they are a living tradition that unites generations. The Gbaraun Egbesu is a reminder of the values that bind this community strength, unity, and a deep connection to their roots.
