The Positive Impact of Tantita Security Services on Niger Delta Communities Through Pipeline Surveillance
We, women of discernment and active members of Oporoza House, align ourselves with the Oporoza Wari ethos, upholding truth, justice, and fairness in all endeavors. It is in this context that we wish to shed light on the pipeline surveillance contract awarded to Tantita Security Service Nigeria Limited and others.
WHEREAS, pipeline surveillance jobs have been a part of oil and gas exploration in the Niger Delta region of Nigeria for decades, with minimal involvement from the Ijaw community until recent times. It was under Late President Yar'Adua's administration that the then Minister of Petroleum, Professor Lukeman, was directed to engage the Ijaw people in developing a viable approach to protect oil and gas infrastructure.
Since TANTITA took over surveillance, our people have benefited significantly in terms of a safer environment, economic empowerment across various sectors, and a drastic reduction in crime rates.
Tantita Security Limited's pipeline surveillance contract has yielded significant benefits for Niger Delta communities, impacting environmental protection, economic empowerment, and security.
Environmental Protection:
Enhanced surveillance has led to reduced pipeline vandalism, minimizing oil spills and environmental degradation. This has preserved ecosystems and protected livelihoods dependent on fishing and farming. Cleaner environments mean healthier communities and sustainable livelihoods.
The contract has created jobs and stimulated local economies through security contracts and community projects. Reduced oil theft has increased government revenue, potentially funding development initiatives like schools, healthcare, and infrastructure. Economic activities are reviving, offering hope for a more prosperous Niger Delta.
Crime Reduction:
Tantita's efforts have contributed to decreased sea piracy, kidnapping, and other crimes, improving regional security and stability. Safer environments attract investment and tourism, further boosting local economies.
These developments have fostered hope for a more prosperous and secure Niger Delta.
We therefore, call on the agrieved persons to be more vissionery, enovative , and seek for other areas within and outside the oil and gas pipeline survillance
Leave TANTITA ALONE.
Signed:
