Pipeline Surveillance Contract: Correcting Senseless Agitation Against Tantita Security.

Pipeline Surveillance Contract: Correcting Senseless Agitation Against Tantita Security.

By Ezekiel Kagbala

The oil-rich Niger Delta region is undisputedly the economic pride of Nigeria as oil remains the source of economic mainstay despite all other natural resources being harnessed from other regions of the country.

The Federal government, knowing the importance of securing the Nation's all-important assets, had the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited, NNPCL, embarked on security checks as to how best to secure oil installation in the region.

After a comprehensive check, a surveillance contract was awarded to five different companies. The then Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Chief Timipre Sylva, and Chief Executive Officer, CEO, NNPC Limited, Mele Kyari, appreciated the need for a private contractor to man the right of way of the crude oil pipelines; they secured President Buhari's approval during his administration for the contract to be awarded.

The pipeline surveillance was then awarded to Tompolo's Tantita Security, and some ethnic bigots were only waiting for Tompolo to fail. To their unpleasant surprise, Tompolo did it, chased the oil thieves and oil bunkers out of business, and raised the country's oil production quota.

President Tinubu also appreciated what Tompolo did and renewed the contract for him to continue when the thieves were preparing to make a huge comeback, to their surprise, the recovery of Nigeria's oil production sent hopelessness and despair into their hearts, and behold, they resorted to an uncivilized form of senseless agitations using the crude instruments of blackmail and malicious falsehood.

Tompolo, who lives in Oporoza, the traditional headquarters of Gbaramatu kingdom, Warri South-West local government area, Delta state, is meritoriously the most qualified to handle such a project due to his vast knowledge of the terrain, and its geographical compositions.

Some charlatan are parading their unfortunate selves around the cities of Warri Lagos and Abuja, even threatening to go to the United Nations to protest against Tompolo's Job.

Their senseless approaches have failed; their blackmail, malicious falsehood, and baseless allegation of stockpiling arms was nothing but a storm in a teacup that cannot fall a tree.

One Ariyo took to social media to brazenly showcase his cluelessness on what the pipeline surveillance contract entails. Ariyo was only trying to incite ethnic disaffection by employing himself to do a childish video against Tompolo. Ariyo has failed woefully and will continue to remain on that trajectory.

Those who care to know, including Ariyo and his Itsekiris gangs, should not forget in a hurry how Tompolo met with traditional rulers, community leaders, and stakeholders from across six states of the Niger Delta to brainstorm on how to protect oil pipelines. Over 10,000 youths held a meeting with Tompolo on how to secure the pipeline and boost the nation's crude oil production quota, which came at a great cost and Itsekiri communities were not left out, infact, they are beneficiaries of Tompolo's benevolence.

From all indications, some merchants of falsehood are only fighting now as the war against crude oil theft has yielded good results, and President Bola Tinubu is happy with the achievement. 'Enemy of good can go to United Nations or hell.
