Tantita Security Wins N-Delta Youths’ Confidence, Reinforces Oil Security Under Tinubu

Beyond safeguarding Nigeria’s critical oil infrastructure, Tantita Security Services Nigeria Ltd has emerged as a catalyst for youth empowerment and sustainable peace in the Niger Delta earning widespread commendation from community leaders and young people who say the initiative has transformed livelihoods and restored environmental stability.

Investigations by Focal Point Reports indicate that Tantita Security’s community-based engagement has directly and indirectly lifted more than 10,000 youths from poverty, transitioning many from dependency to productivity through structured employment, skills acquisition, and entrepreneurship support. The initiative aligns security operations with social innovation—an approach observers say reinforces national economic stability while addressing the region’s long-standing development challenges.

Under the pragmatic leadership of High Chief Government Ekpemukpolo (Tompolo) and Engr. Kestin Pondi, Tantita Security has institutionalised community participation in the protection of Nigeria’s oil wealth. Youths across host communities are being integrated into lawful surveillance and facility protection frameworks, turning stewardship of national assets into a viable way of life.

Several beneficiaries told Focal Point Reports that engagement with Tantita Security enabled them to establish profitable businesses and acquire sustainable skills, underscoring the programme’s multiplier effect beyond direct employment.

During a fact-finding tour of communities in Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State, a community youth leader, Mr. Joseph Idowu Oge, attested to the impact.

“Those days of illegal local refining—‘cooking’ crude oil into diesel—are gone,” he said. “Tantita Security’s community youth engagement for oil facility protection is far more profitable, sustainable, and all-encompassing. I even named my business after Tantita Security.”

Environmental and maritime indicators further reinforce these testimonies. Local leaders report that the drastic reduction in crude oil theft has aided environmental remediation across affected creeks, while incidents of sea piracy have significantly declined—improving safety for communities and commercial activities alike.

Stakeholders say these outcomes present a compelling case to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, that Niger Delta youths are broadly satisfied with Tantita Security’s operations and supportive of the Federal Government’s security partnership in the region. The model, they argue, demonstrates how inclusive security strategies can deliver peace dividends while protecting national revenues.

In its New Year message, Tantita Security reaffirmed its commitment to continued partnership, youth empowerment, and sustainable peac emphasising a dual mandate that combines surveillance with community development. Recent highlights include youth capacity-building programmes, infrastructure support such as police station projects, and renewed commitments to regional prosperity under the leadership of Tompolo and Engr. Kestin Pondi.

Calling for unity and vigilance, the company stressed that its mission extends beyond protection to fostering long-term peace through economic opportunity—a sentiment echoed by local leaders who support sustained engagement.

“This year, with your support, cooperation, and vigilance, we have made a lot of difference,” the message read. “Together, we strengthened security, protected our environment, and defended our livelihoods. This progress belongs to all of us—and the commitment surely continues.”

As the nation steps into the new year, communities across the Niger Delta say Tantita Security has become not just a security contractor, but a reference point for national pride, one that blends protection of strategic assets with hope, dignity, and opportunity for the region’s youth.

Happy New Year from us to you.
