A prominent stakeholder of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), Frank Akiefa, has expressed excitement over what he tagged as the "innovative administration and management of the Presidential Amnesty Programme under the leadership of High Chief Dennis Otuaro PhD".
In a signed statement he issued and made available to journalists in Warri, Delta State on Friday, Akiefa, a popular chief of the Ogbolubiri-Mein Kingdom in Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State, noted with delight that "within the short time of Otuaro's leadership of the PAP, the interventionist agency has recorded numerous developmental achievements".
Akiefa's statement came amid reports that "the Amnesty Programme is working", following the recent graduation of a student on the PAP scholarship, Kemien Egbekun, with a First Class Degree in Law at the Michael and Cecilia Ibru University (MCIU), Agbara-Otor, Delta State.
Akiefa disclosed that, on educational achievements, two other students under PAP sponsorship, Oladapo Damilola, and Toikumo Prosper, also made Second-class Upper-Division grades in Law while no fewer than 60 students sponsored by the PAP made First class in different competitive disciplines.
Akiefa said, "PAP, under the leadership of Dr. Dennis Otuaro, has exceeded expectations by ensuring prompt payment of stipends to beneficiaries, supporting education, and encouraging academic excellence.
"Based on data and evidence on the ground, Dennis Otuaro's achievements are a clear testament, he came to the job with all competence and sagacity; you could also recall that some weeks ago, four cadet pilots on the PAP scholarship scheme graduated from Aerotraining in Johannesburg, South Africa.
"Otuaro has gone the extra mile to improve the manpower base of the Niger Deltans through vocational and educational training, empowerment, and building entrepreneurs to become owners who are now ready to move from job seekers to job creators, all thanks to High Chief Dennis Otuaro for his innovative leadership, proactiveness and administrative capacity."
He stated further, “In calling for the widening of the scope of the Presidential Amnesty Programme to accommodate the gains made thus far, it is also important to increase the budgetary allocation to the Programme for it to be able to shoulder all of the new initiatives espoused by the Administrator of the Programme, Dr. Dennis Otuaro".
