By Ezekiel Kagbala
The Delta chapter of the Committee for Defence of Human Rights (CDHR) ably led by Comr. Elder Chief A. P. Edariese has berated some expelled persons who have formed a parallel body in the state and recently led some faceless groups who claimed to be CDHR members to visit the State Commissioner of Police CP Olufemi Surajudeen Abaniwonda.
The state chairman also urged Authorities concerned and the general public to stop dealing with expelled members of the CDHR who are mischievously carrying the name of the organization. Speaking to newsmen on Saturday, March 9th, 2023, Edariese disclosed that Mr. Prince Kehinde Taiga and Mr. Jonathan Giama were members of the CDHR up till 30th January 2021 when they were expelled.
according to him, the duo have lost every privilege to use the name of the organization. He added that whatever the duo and their cronies are currently doing in the name of the organization amounts to impersonation which must not be encouraged by any reasonable person in the society.
Edariese Aso brought it to the attention of the Commissioner of Police, Delta State, the state's Police Public relations officer, DSP Edafe Bright, the Authorities concerned, and the general public especially Deltans to disregard the expelled members of the CDHR who are fraudulently parading themselves as executives of the organization at the State level to get certain benefits from unsuspecting groups.
He condemn the recent visit of the group led by Mr. Jonathan Giama, who has been expelled from the organization to the commissioner of police in Asaba Delta State. Edariese also noted that Jonathan Giama was suspended by the National Executive Committee for various acts bordering on gross misconduct, indiscipline, and dishonesty.
According to Edariese, "It is necessary to put the record strength, those led by Jonathan Giama to visit the commissioner of police are not CDHR members, they are imposters that should be arrested for impersonating the legitimately constituted body.
"For the avoidance of doubt, the authentic leaders of CDHR Delta State comprises; Elder Chief Peter Edariese, the state chairman,
Comr. Ejechi Fidelis is the vice chairman, Chika Maduh is the secretary, Collins Abegha is the treasurer while Nosa Ogbeide is the publicity secretary".
