Delta Sports Commission: Odidi Chairman, Recommends Ex-Super Eagles Star, Sodje for Appointment

Odidi community chairman, OML 42, Warri South-West Local Government Area, Delta State, Prince Preye Okrikpa has urged the Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori to consider former Super Eagles defender, Sam Sodje for appointment as Chairman of Delta State Sports Commission.
The community leader who made the appeal on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, during a friendly football game at Nana college, Warri, disclosed that Sam Sodje is a competent hand to pilot the affairs of the commission.
Prince Preye Okrikpa further endorsed Sam Sodje as the best candidate for the Chairmanship position in the Delta State Sports Commission, stating that young footballers and upcoming talents would learn much and advance their careers to the international level.
Describing Sodje, he said, "The former Super Eagles defender, Okiemute Samuel Sodje who was born in England to Nigerian parents will no doubt develop talents in sports, using his wealth of experience in the internal league".
Preye Okrikpa implored Governor Sheriff Obovrevwori to consider Sodje for appointment into the Commission adding that, his exploits for over 15 years across major English clubs speak volumes for his qualifications to improve football and other sports activities that will make the state shine as a reference point for national pride.
According to him, "Sodje, beyond his international background, is very passionate about football, raising young talented players to become professional footballers".
