Ughelli North APC Strategies for 2027 Election, Pledges Victory for Tinubu, Oborevwori

Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State have unanimously pledged to deliver President Bola Tinubu, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and all APC candidates in the 2027 general elections.
The pledge was made on Friday during a strategic stakeholders’ meeting held at the Uduere country home of the Chairman of Ughelli North Local Government Area, Hon. Jaro Egbo.
The high-level meeting, described as the first major convergence of party leaders since the recent merger of political structures in the council, brought together influential APC stakeholders who projected a united front anchored on reconciliation, solidarity and early mobilisation ahead of the 2027 polls.
A founding leader of the APC in Delta State and leader of the party in Ughelli North, Olorogun O’tega Emerhor, lauded the defection of Governor Oborevwori and the entire Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) structure into the APC, describing the development as “the beginning of a new dawn” for the party in Delta State.
Emerhor said the defection had positioned the APC for unprecedented political strength in the state, adding that renewed unity within the party would translate into electoral success. He urged elected officials and political appointees to offer maximum support to the party as preparations intensify for the 2027 elections.
In his remarks, the host of the meeting and Chairman of Ughelli North LGA, Hon. Jaro Egbo, said the APC had entered the 2026 election season in “a different gear,” stressing that the party was determined to forestall any opposition challenge in the area.
He called on party members to deepen grassroots mobilisation, noting that Ughelli North, the largest voting bloc in Delta State, must deliver overwhelming support for President Tinubu and Governor Oborevwori.
“As a party, we are all sailing together. Our mandate is simple: to deliver all APC candidates in 2027,” Egbo stated.
The APC Chairman in Ughelli North, Hon. Samuel Evwighono, described the meeting as historic, noting that it was the first time the entire party structure had converged since the merger.
Evwighono said his leadership priority had been reconciliation of aggrieved members to strengthen internal cohesion. He, however, expressed concern over the low collection of Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) in the council and urged ward leaders to intensify mobilisation for massive participation in the ongoing voter registration exercise.
Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Sir Festus Ahon, also called for unity and unwavering support for President Tinubu and Governor Oborevwori, stressing that Ughelli North, being the governor’s home base, must take the lead in consolidating the APC across the state.
Other speakers at the meeting included Prof. Sam Ibodje; the member representing Ughelli North Constituency I in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Matthew Omonade; the Commissioner for Transport, Hon. Onoriode Agofure; Surveyor Terry Noah; and the 11 ward chairmen of the party.
They all reaffirmed their loyalty to the APC and pledged to work tirelessly to ensure victory for President Tinubu, Governor Oborevwori and all APC candidates in the 2027 general elections.
The meeting ended on a note of renewed optimism, with party leaders resolving to intensify grassroots mobilisation and strengthen the APC’s dominance in Ughelli North ahead of
the forthcoming elections.
