"Wherever Sheriff Oborevwori Goes, I Go" - Frank Akiefa Backs Delta Governor's Defection to APC


The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Delta State on Security Matters, Comrade (Chief) Frank Akiefa has publicly announced his defection from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). This announcement comes on the heels of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori's movement to the APC, marking a pivotal moment in Delta State's political landscape ahead of 2027.

Akiefa made the declaration in Asaba on Monday, the Delta capital, where Oborevwori, Okowa, and the PDP structure in Delta were received into the APC. Akiefa expressed his loyalty to Governor Oborevwori, stating, "Wherever Sheriff Oborevwori goes, I go." 

Akiefa added that his decision to follow his boss and political leader (Oborevwori) according to him, "Is to work together to bring about the change that our pool people desire,"  he further emphasized the need for unity and collaboration within the party.

In a related development yesterday, defectors were officially received into the party by chieftains of the ruling APC, including Vice President Kashim Shettima; the party’s National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje; Senator Adams Oshiomhole; Governor Hope Uzodimma, who is the chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum, among other political bigwigs.
