Akiefa Inspires Ijaw Nation to Honor Edwin Clark's Legacy Amidst Grief 

Comrade Frank Akiefa, a prominent Niger Delta activist and Deputy President of the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) has encouraged Ijaw Nation and the entire Niger Delta people to channel their grief into a renewed commitment as the Ijaw National leader and elder statesman, Chief Edwin Kiagbodo Clark passes on to eternal glory on Monday at the age of 97 years.

Akiefa who is a prominent chief of Ogbolubiri-Mein Kingdom Burutu Local Government Area Delta State, in a statement he personally signed, copies of which were made available to newsmen in Warri, described the late nonagenarian as a crusader for justice who devoted his life to the advancement of our nation. 

In a condolence message to Clark's immediate family and the entire Ijaw Nation, Akiefa calls on all to reflect on the endearing qualities of Clark who has left behind a legacy of courage, resilience, and service to humanity. 

Akiefa further emphasized the need for the Ijaw Nation to remain united in the face of ongoing challenges, including environmental degradation, economic marginalization, and political disenfranchisement.

"His wisdom and guidance will be strongly missed, but we must honor his memory by continuing the fight for our rights and the development of our land.

"May his soul rest in perfect peace, and may God grant his immediate family, the people of the Niger Delta, and all Nigerians the strength to bear this irreplaceable loss,” Akiefa stated
