A notable Ijaw youth leader and former freedom fighter, Chief Comrade Frank Akiefa has expressed his sincere gratitude to Dr. Dennis Otuaro, the Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP) for organizing a transformative three-day training focused on leadership, alternative dispute resolution (ADR), and mediation for Niger Delta Ex-agitators, stakeholders and beneficiaries.
In a statement signed by Akiefa and shared with journalists in Abuja, he highlighted the training's importance for the youth of the Niger Delta and the greater community.
The training, conducted in collaboration with the Nigerian Army Resource Centre, aimed to equip stakeholders with essential skills for effective leadership and conflict resolution.
In his remarks, Akiefa said, “This initiative is not just a training program; it is a vital investment in my future, and it will enable me to play a crucial role in fostering peace and development in the Niger Delta region. President Bola Tinubu made the right choice by appointing Otuaro to this position.”
He also praised Otuaro for demonstrating competence, dedication, and a commitment to reforming the amnesty programme, including expanding its scope to involve impacted communities.
“This training has equipped me and other participants to further the peace process and stability in our region, allowing for socioeconomic growth and development, as outlined in the President's Renewed Hope Agenda,” Akiefa added.
He concluded, “Thank you for providing me with this wonderful opportunity to be trained as a professional in alternative dispute resolution.”
