Following the alleged secret moves by some members of the People Democratic Party (PDP)to reconcile Gbagi to the party, has stirred up reactions as group demand unreserved apology.
In a statement issued to the recent development, which was made known to newsmen, the chairman of the Social Movement for Good Governance, Prince Temienor Oghenekewve repeatedly disclosed that, Okowa and the People Democratic Party (PDP) must realize that besides rendering an unreserved apology to the Governorship Candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi, there is also need for the party to effect a productive reconciliation process for the party to survive their current turbulence.
According to him, there is crisis in virtually all the structures of the party from the state to the national level. Like divine retribution, the party had been badly enmeshed in internal conflicts since one of the founding members, Gbagi left, out of disdain as a result of the character exhibited by Governor Okowa.
"This is not unconnected to the fact that nobody in PDP be it state or national can hurt Gbagi and enjoy peace without divine retribution and today, the party is paying the price".
The group stated further that, since the anti -democratic conduct of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa forced Gbagi out of the PDP Governorship race, peace, unity and strength which are tenets of attaining political heights has eluded the party.
"Today, all evasive maneuvering of Okowa and the PDP has resulted to an imminent collapse of the party at all levels not to mention the recent threat by aggrieved members to dump the party if proactive measures are not taken.
"Possibly, Governor Okowa who is the leader of the party in the state did not envisage the crisis so as to nip it in the bud rather he added insult to injury by lurking and tricking Gbagi with the name of God and this however was difficult for Gbagi to come in terms with, recalling that, the house he has built over the years was taken over by those who will not even help the people but destroy it.
Though presently, with all religious leaders in the state backing him, Gbagi's political relevance has enjoyed the blessings and endorsement of God while the PDP has come under wrath and punishment of God.
"We pray that God should not further punish those who ochestrated the betrayal of Deltans and who also worked against the emergence of Gbagi as the supposed party candidate seeing that, whatever or whoever works against Gbagi will end up to be self destructive.
