Breaking News: Delta SDP Gov Candidate, Gbagi Alleges Assassination Plot Against Him, Goes Into Hiding
Plots to assassinate the Governorship Candidate of the Social Democratic Party, SDP in Delta state, Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi has been uncovered.
Gbagi, a former chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)
who left the party to run on the ticket of SDP, raised the alarm in a statement on Tuesday, February 7th, 2023 without disclosing his where-about at this press time.
It was gathered from a source who pleaded anonymity that every means to stop him from winning the 2023 Governorship Election in the State had failed.
And various blocs in the body of Christ, comprising All Nigerian Christian Global Fellowship (ANCGF), Organization of African Instituted Churches (OAIC) and the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), have endorsed and adopted him as their Governorship candidate in Delta state.
Gbagi, A former Minister of state for education was said to have received credible information that a plot was being hatched to eliminate him before the 2023 governorship election.
He, however, raised his suspicion on Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta state behind the grand plot to stop him from winning the Governorship election using every meaning, including assassination plots.
This medium also gathered that Gbagi's campaign strategy of winning the entire Christians in Delta State to support his Governorship bid threatened his detractors.
It also revealed that he has faced a lot of threats to life for exposing the dangers of voting for a Muslim candidate again, as such negates the principle of fair power rotation, equity and Justice.
In a related development, the Ughelli-based political pressure group, Urhobo Progressive Agenda, UPA led by Comrade Onorode Umukoro disclosed that; "We deem it important to raise alarm and alert security operatives to ensure that the safety and liberty of Gbagi, are not tampered with.
"No harm should come to our leader, Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi for his vigorous position against the reelection of a Muslim for president.
"We reject any plot to destabilise the Governorship election, "We plead with the nation’s security agencies to halt this devious plan in the interest of peace, Gbagi like other good Nigerians will always take seriously his position of telling Deltans the truth about Atiku and Okowa's ambition"
We want to state that; no politician should descend so low to an extent of plotting to eliminate Gbagi whom Okowa once called his brother and friend, and no one should provoke the Urhobo Nation".
"We will resist any form of intimidation as power must return to Christians, come 2023. This is the time to work the talk on the gentleman agreement of one Christian one Muslim".
