Breaking News: Gunmen Abduct Wife of Delta Lawmaker
Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers on Monday abducted Mrs. Christy Uroye, wife of Hon. Augustine Uroye, lawmaker representing Warri South Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly.
FocalPoint Reports gathered that the sad incident took place around 6:30 pm Monday, September 2, 2024, at Jakpa Road, Uwvie Local Government Area of Delta State.Her driver and security personnel attached to her were reportedly killed by the abductors in the process.
When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for Delta State Command, SP Bright Edafe confirmed the incident but swiftly stated that, "The operation was not successful".
Also, a source told our correspondent on the phone that the abductors had an exchange of gunfire with some policemen along the road in their attempt to elope with their captive, somehow, she escaped as the abductors filed.
Mrs.Oroye is now receiving treatment in a hospital in the locality.
The source did not, however, confirm whether or not the abductors were arrested in the melee.
