Happening Today: OML42 Youth Leaders Organises Skill Empowerment Workshop in Delta

Youth leaders of Host Communities to Oil Mining License (OML) 42 operated by Nigerian Petroleum Development Company Ltd, NPDC/Neconde JV, in Delta State, will be holding a skill acquisition workshop to officially flag off their proposed skill acquisition program today, August 31st, 2023.

The Workshop is scheduled to be held today Thursday at Wellington Hotel-Warri along Effurun/Ughelli Expressway, Off PTI Junction, Time, 10: AM.

The Chairman of OML 42 Youths Forum, Comr. Bakawei Mamamu disclosed that the workshop is to highlight lists of skills to enable prospective participants to make choices for the actual training that will take place at the various centers.

According to Bakawei Mamamu, "The youth leaders came up with the training program for self-empowerment and will be soliciting support from the oil companies, contractors, and stakeholders for the empowerment phase.

While passionately appealing to Stakeholders, contractors NPDC, and other companies operating in OML 42 to support the program for starter packs to be allocated to all participants, he urges youths from OML 42 who are interested in any of the skills to liaise with their various youths Leader for them to become a beneficiary.

The chairman of the forum also noted that the program is aimed at inspiring and equipping participants to be self-productive and develop sufficient capacity to secure jobs and create wealth.
