Delta Coastal Communities Now 'No Go' Areas to Criminals-- Delta Governor's Aide Frank Akiefa

Delta riverine communities are now 'no go' areas to criminal elements, the Senior Special Assistant to Delta State Governor on Security Matters, Chief (Comrade) Frank Akiefa has warned.
Akiefa, a prominent chief of the Ogbolubiri-Mein kingdom in the Burutu Local Government Area, while giving the warning on Sunday further declared that "criminal elements will not be allowed to cause trouble and disturbances in Delta riverine communities".
According to him, "the Governor Sheriff Oborevwori-led administration is working tirelessly to build a safe, secure and peaceful Delta State for all".
Consequently, he called on security operatives to "flush out any group of persons involved in violent crimes, to enable them face the law".
While commending the Delta State Police Command and other security operatives for their proactive measures in tackling crimes and criminalities in the area, he stated that "the government's watchful eye is now being focused on every community within the State, in a bid to achieve complete security for the MORE agenda to thrive.
He maintained that the State Government has already directed all persons in possession of illegal weapons at Ugolo/Okorikpere in Okpe Local Government Area of the State 30 days ultimatum within which to surrender them.
He therefore urged anyone in possession of illegal firearms to surrender them to the State Government and security agencies in their own interest.
The Governor's aide further used the avenue to alert those in various riverine communities in the State who have illegal weapons or firearms to surrender them or face the law.
He said, "Governor Sheriff Oborevwori will not tolerate any form of criminality or action that is capable of threatening the safety, security of and welfare of Deltans, criminal gangs would not be allowed to operate across Delta riverine communities and surrounding domains.
"The State is ready to attract businesses and investors, and insecurity cannot be allowed any place; criminals are hereby warned".
Akiefa further implored Deltans to "join hands with Governor Sheriff Oborevwori as he delivers his promises, the M.O.R.E Agenda by making sure that people in coastal communities remain peaceful and law-abiding".
