Delta lawmaker berates OPCR, CSC-MAP, others over calls on review of Tantita contract

The Minority Whip and lawmaker representing Burutu Constituency 1 in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Alapala Anthony Ebitonmo, has berated the Oodua People's Congress Reformed, OPCR and the Civil Society Coalition for Mandate Protection, CSC-MAP, and others over their calls for the review of the pipeline surveillance and protection contract in the Niger Delta, awarded to Tantita Security Services Nigeria Ltd, owned by High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, a.k.a. Tompolo.
The OPCR, CSC-MAP, CSCN and other group, last week, urged President Bola Armed Tinubu to review the pipeline surveillance and security contract awarded to Tantita Security Services Nigeria Ltd.
The lawmaker took a swipe at the groups in a statement issued yesterday, where he cautioned those behind the calls to desist forthwith, stressing that their stance was not in the best interest of Nigeria and her economy.
The lawmaker said: "I want to emphatically state here that those behind the calls to review the pipeline surveillance and security contract awarded Tantita Security Services Nigeria Ltd are doing so for their personal interests and not for the interest of Nigeria and her economy.
"It is shameful on their part to make such calls at a time when it is known the world over the concerted efforts of the contracting firm to buoy up the nation's challenging economy through its dedicated service delivery.
"On the other way around, Tantita Security Services Nigeria Ltd should be applauded for excellent service delivery, the voyage of OPCR, CSC-MAP and cohorts are shameful and highly embarrassing, which is driven by jealousy and hatred for a job well done.
"To nail the point, Tantita remains the best security company for the surveillance and security job and there is no two ways about it. I call on our amiable President, Bola Armed Tinubu, to disregard their anti-progressive calls because they do not mean well for the nation and her economy.
"The laudable exploits and hardwork of the Tantita Security Services Nigeria Ltd in the execution of assigned duties in the Niger Delta region are well known, not just by Nigerians but also by the outside world.
"Niger Delta is peaceful due to the careful, well-thought out steps taken by President Tinubu, and the renewal of Tantita's contract in the region is one of the best decisions so far taken by Mr President because the evidence is there for all to attest to".
