Delta Peace, Unity Cup 2024: Biggest Football Competition to Commence November 16th, N5m Up for Grabs

There is no need to doubt the fact that the 2024 Delta Ethnic Peace and Unity Cup Competition, formerly known as the Ijaw/Itsekiri Peace and Unity Football Tournament, will foster a sense of community, capacity building, and unity within all Deltans.
Participants and spectators will have a chance to contribute to their ethnic nationalities In the upcoming football tournament sponsored by the Centre for Peace and Environmental Justice (CEPEJ).
Twenty-four participating football teams drawn from the ethnic nationalities of Ijaw, Ika, Isoko, Itsekiri, Ndokwa, and Urhobo will be competing for the prize of N5 million Naira as the national coordinator of CEPEJ and Chief sponsor Comrade Sheriff Mulade affirms complete readiness.
Millions of supporters, including prominent traditional rulers and top government functionaries, have endorsed this biggest football game in which all Deltans are fully involved and have a stake in contributing to peaceful coexistence.
The competition is the biggest as the planning is targeted at building bridges of unity and promoting socio-economic economic growth and development; it will also help to discover many football talents at the grassroots with multiplier benefits for the State.
The opening ceremony of the tournament will take place at Ode-Itsekiri (Big Warri) on November 16, 2024, While The finals will take place in Ororokpe, Okpe LGA, on December 8, 2024, with N5 million consolidated prizes at stake in the football competition, the winner will go home with N2 million and runners up with N1.5 million, third place with N1 million and fourth place N500,000.
