Delta Police Recover Stolen Corolla, Nab Two Suspected Drug Dealers With 132 Tramadol Sachets

The Delta State Police Command has recorded fresh operational successes with the recovery of a stolen Toyota Corolla in Ughelli and the arrest of two suspected drug dealers in Asaba.

In the first operation, detectives attached to the ‘A’ Division, Warri, recovered an ash-coloured 2003 Toyota Corolla with registration number WW-579MD, barely two hours after it was reported stolen.

The vehicle was reportedly stolen on August 13, 2026, from where it was parked at Awani Close, Ajamugha, Warri. Following the report, detectives of the division, working with the Dragon Patrol Team, launched a coordinated operation that led to the recovery of the vehicle along Winners Church Road, Ughelli.

The Police said efforts are ongoing to identify and apprehend those connected with the alleged theft.

In a separate operation the same day, operatives of the patrol team attached to Operation Delta Shield intercepted a Toyota Hiace bus with registration number ZBL-549-XA along Nnebisi Road, Asaba, during a stop-and-search exercise.

A search of the vehicle allegedly led to the recovery of 132 sachets of 100mg Tramadol and the arrest of two suspects identified as Hillary Osondu, 54, and Abubakar Bello, 54.

The two suspects remain in police custody as investigation continues.

Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, CP Yemi Oyeniyi, psc, acipm, mnips, commended the operatives for their prompt response and urged officers across the command to sustain proactive and intelligence-led policing.

The Commissioner also called on residents to remain vigilant and provide the Police with credible information about suspicious persons and activities, assuring that the Command would continue to deploy its available resources towards preventing and detecting crime across Delta State.
