GMA @15: Education Commissioner Recommends Maritime Academy for Entrepreneurial Training in Delta

As the Global Maritime Academy (GMA) celebrates 15 years of its existence, the honorable commissioner for higher education, Prof. Nyerhovwo Tonukari has recommended the institution to Nigerians as a reference point for entrepreneurial training that is geared towards sustainable national growth and development.
The commissioner made the recommendation during the occasion of the institution's 15th-anniversary ceremony held on the 31st of January 2024 at the PTI Conference Centre, Effurun, Delta State.
In his address as special guest of honor at the occasion, Tonukari observed that the institution has achieved great feats and significant milestones adding that, graduates of GMA should count themselves lucky to have the leverage to build lifelong careers that would drive the vision of sustainable economic growth and development of the country.
"It is safe to say that this set of graduands constitutes an invaluable pool of middle-level manpower needed to drive economic development including Small and Medium Scale Enterprises in the country
"As for staff and students, I charge you to re-double your efforts at diligence and productivity required, to effectively propel the institution to great heights. Become an expert in whatever you do. Education is very fundamental for societal development and economy as well as the day-to-day functioning of society. I enjoin you all to embrace lifelong education and to continue to improve yourself even after you have graduated from this prestigious Academy.

However, the graduation and Passing Out Parade of the 2022 and 2023 sets of graduates will take place on the 2nd of February, 2024, at the GMA’s permanent site along Secretariat Road, Agbowhiame, Ughelli South LGA, Delta State. The ceremony will commence at 10 am, marking the beginning of a new chapter for our talented graduates.”
