Governor Oborevwori, IGP Decorate Delta CP Abaniwonda Olufemi With AIG Rank in Abuja

Delta State Governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, alongside the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has formally decorated the Delta State Commissioner of Police, Abaniwonda Olufemi, with his new rank of Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG).

The decoration ceremony took place on the 23rd December 2025 in Abuja and was attended by key dignitaries, including the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor, who accompanied the governor to the event.

AIG Abaniwonda Olufemi was among senior police officers recently promoted by the Police Service Commission (PSC) following its approval of promotions within the Nigeria Police Force.

The promotion is widely regarded as a recognition of his years of service, professionalism, and dedication to maintaining law and order, as well as his contributions to policing and security across the country.

Speaking at the event, attendees commended the newly promoted officer for his commitment to duty and expressed confidence that he would continue to contribute meaningfully to national security in his new capacity.
