The governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party in Delta State, Chief Kenneth Gbagi, OON and the All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship Candidate in the state, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege has tasked governor, Ifeanyi Okowa to account for the State's share of the N250 billion that accrued to the state from the 13 per cent derivation to oil-rich states.

Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi and Ovie Omo-Agege who spoke on separate occasions same-day, Monday, 5th December 2022 durring their various political engagements dragged the State governor to account for Delta State 13 percent, stating that there was nothing on ground to justify the huge resources that the state had received from the federal government.

Gbagi who summed up what the State has received from the Federal government disclosed that "Delta State is bleeding to death under Okowa, having received over N2.5 trillion from the federal government and incurred N387 billion within seven and half years of his administration.

However, Senator Omo-Agege,
Durring his ward-to-ward campaign to Abbi, Kwale, Utagba-Uno and other wards in Ndokwa West Local Government Area of the state, asked Governor Okowa, to account for Delta’s share of 13% oil derivation paid by the federal government to the State.

Omo-Agege challenged Governor Okowa to personally give account of how Delta’s share of the money was expended by the PDP-led administration in the state.

He stated that "There was nothing on ground to justify the huge resources the state had received from the federal government".

Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi in a related development warned that It is unthinkable and insensitive for some politicians to return power to the north after president Muhammadu Buhari’s tenure in office, adding that the implication of attempting or thinking of doing otherwise will be injurious to the foundation of all children from the south yet unborn.
