Traditional Rulers to Intervene between Okowa, Clark’s in Delta

Traditional Rulers Council in Delta State have resolved to wade into the face off between former Governor of Delta State, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa and Elder States Man, Chief Edwin Kiagbodor Clark.
The resolution is contained in a three-point Communiqué issued at the end of a meeting of Members of the Council in Asaba.
The Chairman of the Council and Orodje of Okpe, Rtd Major - General Felix Mujakpuero,Orhue 1 who read the Communiqué said the decision to step in the matter was based on the call by the leadership of the Apex Youth Organization in the state; Delta State Ethnic Nationalities Youth Council who visited the Council - session.
The Chairman, flanked by the Ist Vice Chairman and Pere of Akugbene Mien, Pere SP Luke Kalanama V111 and 2nd Vice Chairman and Obi of Ubulu Unor Agbgidi Henry Kikachukwu 1 as well as the immediate past Chairman of the Council and Obi of Owa, Dr Emmanuel Efeizomor 11, said '' having critically reviewed the Presentation by the Youths on the subject matter, Council resolved to look in to the matter in no distant time.''
The Delta Monarchs Commended the Youth leaders for showing Concern on the issue particularly for towing the path of peace saying that the Council members were proud of Delta Youths.
Earlier, the Coordinating Chairman of Delta Ethnic Nationalities Youth Forum and President of Itsekiri National Youth Council, Comrade Weyinmi Agbateyiniro described the attacks of Elder statesman, Chief Edwin Clark on the immediate past Governor of the state, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa as avoidable and unnecessary.
The youth leaders told the monarchs they were at the secretariat to seek their intervention in curtailing the seeming inter ethnic feud that could emanate from the said attacks on the ex-Governor.
According to Agbateyiniro, as youth leaders we cannot sit and watch things go wrong in our dear state especially as we see the former Governor as our role model because he paved way for youths to grow in the state.
"We view our foremost leader, Chief Clark’s attacks and petition against Okowa as avoidable and unnecessary media trial of the former Governor and we urge the Council to intervene," Agbateyiniro stated.
Also, during the Council -in -Session, the Delta Monarchs received the Delta State Commandant of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, Barrister John Tunde Omotosa San who was on advocacy visit to sensitize the monarchs on the dangers of Drug Abuse and solicited the support of the monarchs towards combating the menace in the society.
The Royal Fathers Congratulated Governor Sheriff Francis Orowhedor Oborevwori on his Diamond celebration and wished him all the best in the task ahead.
The meeting was attended by Traditional Rulers from across the Three Senatorial Districts of Delta State.
