Warri South-West Vice Chairman, Akpodubakaye Congratulates Oborevwori on Supreme Court Verdict

The Vice Chairman of Warri South West Local Government Area Hon. Arthur Akpodubakaye, has congratulated Governor Sheriff Oborevwori on his victory at the Supreme Court on Friday, 19th January 2024.

Akpodubakaye who joined the good people of Warri South-West to celebrate the victory of the seating governor on Friday, January 19th, 2024, commended the apex court for delivering the judgment that protects the mandate of Deltans who voted massively for Sheriff Obovrevwori.

He added that despite the opposition knowing from the onset that they had no case, the decision of the apex court did not come as a surprise, according to him, "It is a victory well deserved, Deltans are very much happy with the Supreme Court verdict affirming Governor Sheriff Oborevwori as duly elected Governor of Delta State, the judgment reflects the will of Deltans

"I am appealing to the opponents to congratulate the Governor on his victory and join hands with him to develop the State, We are all Deltans and Obovrevwori is a governor to all, 

“I also congratulate our great party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and all who genuinely supported the Governor’s emergence".

It could be recalled that the Supreme Court in a judgment delivered in Abuja on Friday, affirmed the verdict of the lower court which had earlier upheld PDP’s Oborevwori as the rightful and authentic winner of the March 18 2023 gubernatorial election in Delta State.

RT. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori won 21 out of the 25 Local Government Areas in the state with 360,234 votes while Omo-Agege of the APC won only 4 Local Government Areas, polling 240,229 votes.
