Burutu, Delta State — Prominent Ijaw youth leader from Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State, Chief Comrade Frank Akiefa, has announced the initiation of a political support platform tagged “Delta State Ijaw Youths Support for Sheriff Oborevwori Re-election 2027.”

In a statement personally signed on Wednesday in Burutu Town and made available to newsmen, Akiefa declared his firm commitment to mobilising Ijaw youths across Delta State in support of Governor Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori’s second-term ambition.

“I will mobilise all Ijaw youths to support the re-election of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori come 2027,” Akiefa stated.

He described Governor Oborevwori as a leader who has laid a solid foundation for unprecedented development across the state, noting that the governor’s leadership style and commitment to governance have earned him widespread acceptance among Deltans.

According to Akiefa, the governor’s infrastructural development drive across key sectors including roads, education, healthcare and rural development is “second to none” in recent times in the state. “Governor Oborevwori’s performance speaks loudly.

His achievements within a short period have justified the confidence reposed in him by the people. He is a unifying leader and his commitment to inclusive development is visible across Delta State,” he added.

The Ijaw youth leader emphasized that the newly initiated support group will focus on grassroots mobilisation, youth engagement, and political sensitization across Ijaw communities in Delta State ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Akiefa noted that the move could further strengthen grassroots support for the governor, particularly within riverine communities where youth participation plays a critical role in shaping political outcomes.
