Activist, Doboro Advocates for Youth Empowerment in Kiagbodo Community
A renowned Niger Delta rights activist Comrade Mavelus Doboro has urged the Delta State government to prioritize the empowerment of youths in the Kiagbodo community. Speaking on behalf of the Organisation for Human and People's Rights Protection and Humanitarian (OHPRPH), Doboro emphasized the urgent need for skill acquisition programs to address the growing unemployment among the youth in the area.
During a recent Human rights meeting on Wednesday in Warri, Doboro presented the needs of Kiagbodo young population, stating that, "Our youths are brimming with talent and ambition, but without the necessary skills and opportunities, they remain trapped in a cycle of poverty and despair." He pointed out that the lack of structured human capital development initiatives has hindered the community's progress and economic growth.
Doboro called for the Delta State government, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori to implement deliberately planned programs that would provide scholarships, job opportunities, and vocational training tailored to the needs of the local economy. "We need initiatives that not only equip our youths with skills but also connect them with job markets and entrepreneurial opportunities," he said.
