A prominent Ijaw youth leader, Chief Frank Akiefa, has commended Bola Ahmed Tinubu for sustaining the pipeline surveillance contract awarded to Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, describing the decision as a strategic move that has helped stabilise Nigeria’s economy and restore peace in the Niger Delta region.

Akiefa praised the President for standing firmly with Niger Delta leader Government High chief Oweizide Ekpemupolo in efforts to safeguard critical oil infrastructure and curb crude oil theft across the region.

Speaking on the impact of the surveillance programme, Akiefa said the engagement of Tantita has produced results beyond improved security around oil and gas facilities, noting that communities in the Niger Delta are beginning to experience a cleaner environment following a reduction in illegal refining activities and pipeline vandalism.

The Ijaw youth leader, who is also a chief of Ogbolubiri Mein Kingdom, Delta state, said the relative peace currently enjoyed by government agencies, multinational oil companies and foreign investors operating in the region is closely tied to the activities of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited.

According to him, the decision by President Tinubu to sustain the surveillance contract has strengthened confidence in the Federal Government’s commitment to the welfare of the Niger Delta people.

“Tinubu’s commitment to the wellbeing of the Niger Delta people is evident in the sustenance of the pipeline surveillance contract, which has now become a reference point for national economic stability,” Akiefa stated.

He called on stakeholders across the Niger Delta to close ranks and support the operations of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited in order to safeguard vital national assets and sustain peace in the oil-rich region.

Akiefa also noted that the surveillance initiative has created employment opportunities for thousands of youths across host communities, providing them with a legitimate means of livelihood.

He further urged individuals and groups opposing the pipeline surveillance arrangement to place national interest above personal gains, stressing that the success of the initiative is critical to protecting Nigeria’s oil resources and sustaining economic growth.
