Attack on human right lawyer, peaceful protesters, court orders Assistant Area Commander to arrest kingpin.

The magistrate court sitting at Ebrumede has ordered the arrest of one Akpowene alias Zamani the leader of the alleged thugs that attacked and brutalized peaceful protesters on the 1st of August, 2024 at the pupolar DSC roundabout. It would be recalled that the human right lawyer Barrister Omes Ogedegbe was also a victim of the attack.

Upon an application filed by the human right lawyer as applicant the court proceeded to make an order for the arrest of the alleged leader of the thugs and that upon his arrest he should be investigated and arraigned before a court of competent jurisdiction.

The elated human right lawyer who appeared in court with bandage on his hand and  who personally moved the application described the order of the court as a victory for the rule of law.
