Delta at 35: Akiefa Hails Oborevwori’s Development Strides, Urges Deltans to Sustain Support

ASABA, Delta State — As Delta State marks its 35th anniversary, the Senior Special Assistant to the State Governor, Chief (Comrade) Frank Akiefa, has congratulated Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and the people of the state, describing the administration’s development efforts as a significant step towards sustainable growth and improved living conditions.

Akiefa, in a statement personally signed by him on Thursday, August 27, 2026, in Asaba and made available to newsmen, joined other well-wishers in celebrating the anniversary while calling on Deltans to continue supporting the administration’s development agenda.

The governor’s aide particularly commended Governor Oborevwori for what he described as his commitment to infrastructural development, good governance and policies aimed at improving the welfare of citizens across the state.

According to Akiefa, the anniversary provides an opportunity for Deltans to reflect on the state’s journey over the past 35 years, celebrate its achievements and renew their collective commitment to building a more prosperous and united Delta.

He described Governor Oborevwori as a “working governor and bridge builder,” noting that the administration’s development efforts have continued to attract attention to the state.

Akiefa said the ongoing projects and government programmes across different parts of Delta State demonstrate the administration’s determination to ensure that development is not concentrated in one area but reaches communities across the state.

He further expressed optimism that Deltans would continue to benefit from what he described as the governor’s “people-oriented policies and programmes,” particularly those focused on infrastructure, economic development and the general wellbeing of the people.

“As Deltans, we have entered another era of sustainable growth, development and prosperity under the competent and purposeful leadership of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori,” Akiefa said.

He urged residents to see the 35th anniversary not only as a celebration but also as a moment to strengthen unity, peace and cooperation among the various ethnic and cultural groups that make up Delta State.

The governor’s aide also called on Deltans to support initiatives that promote development, stressing that government efforts would achieve greater impact when citizens, community leaders, professionals, businesses and other stakeholders work together towards common goals.

Akiefa congratulated Deltans at home and abroad on the anniversary and expressed confidence that the state would record greater progress in the years ahead.

He said: “We appreciate our working governor for his commitment to the development of our dear state. Let us continue to support the administration and the Renewed Hope agenda for greater achievements, sustainable development and a better future for all Deltans.”

As Delta State celebrates 35 years of its creation, Akiefa urged citizens to remain united and committed to peace, development and the collective prosperity of the state.
