Ex-agitators Issue Strong Counter-statement, Dismiss Allegations Against PAP administrator, Otuaro

Ex-agitators and beneficiaries of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP) have issued a strong counter-statement rejecting what they described as falsehoods and propaganda targeted at the Administrator of the Programme, Dr. Dennis Burutu Otuaro.

The statement, signed by Hon. Clever Agbe, an ex-agitator leader from Delta State and National Chairman of the South-South Door-to-Door Campaign Movement, condemned recent claims credited to Mr. Jude Gbaboyor and his associates, describing them as baseless, irresponsible and deliberately misleading.

According to the statement, the allegations lack evidence, credibility and moral standing, and are nothing more than a desperate attempt to undermine a public officer whose performance and integrity are visible to beneficiaries and stakeholders across the Niger Delta.

“Since assuming office, Dr. Dennis Burutu Otuaro has done more for ex-agitators and Niger Delta youths than many of his critics have done in their entire lifetime of shouting from the sidelines,” the statement said.

Hon. Agbe highlighted key achievements recorded under Dr. Otuaro’s leadership, noting that PAP stipends are now stable and consistent, training and empowerment programmes have been revived, youth opportunities have expanded, and peace has been strengthened across several communities in the Niger Delta.

“These are not mere claims or propaganda. They are visible realities felt by beneficiaries on the ground,” the statement stressed.

The ex-agitators further described it as unacceptable and dishonest for anyone to fabricate criminal allegations simply because they cannot match the impact of an administrator who is delivering results. They maintained that anyone with genuine evidence of wrongdoing should seek redress through lawful channels, not through the streets or social media.

The statement warned against attempts to drag the Niger Delta backwards through misinformation, bitterness and deliberate attempts to sow discord.

Reaffirming their confidence in the PAP Administrator, the ex-agitators said Dr. Otuaro has consistently demonstrated genuine concern for their welfare, stood firmly with Niger Delta youths, and shown leadership deserving of respect.

“That is why I proudly refer to him as ‘Tompolo Part 2’ a symbol of strength, capacity and loyalty to the Niger Delta struggle,” Hon. Agbe declared.

The group insisted that the era of destroying hardworking leaders with lies is over, emphasizing that facts, performance and credibility will always prevail over propaganda.

They urged the public and the Federal Government to disregard what they termed baseless attacks and allow Dr. Otuaro to continue his work in consolidating peace and driving development in the Niger Delta.

“We stand firmly with Dr. Dennis Burutu Otuaro. No amount of noise can overshadow the truth,” the statement concluded.
