Gere Consulting Trains Local Government Officials on Revenue and Accountability

Gere Consulting Associates Limited, a leading consulting firm in Nigeria, has successfully concluded a week-long training workshop for local government officers and stakeholders, aimed at enhancing financial revenue, accountability and grassroots economic development.

The workshop, which began on Monday, November 18, and ended on Friday, November 22, 2024, brought together supervisors, special assistants, council chairmen, auditors, and other key stakeholders from local government councils across the country.

Speaking during the closing session in Lagos, the Chief Executive Officer of Gerre Consulting Associates Limited, Comrade Benson Bawo Gere, emphasized the importance of the training in improving grassroots governance and sustainability.

"This workshop was designed to equip participants with leadership skills and entrepreneurial approaches to solving grassroots problems," Gere stated. "Our focus is on ensuring sustainable revenue streams that drive economic development at the local level."

The workshop, themed "Enhancing Financial Revenues, Accountability, and Local Government Economic Entrepreneurship for Grassroots Sustainability," targeted key local government officials, including council chairmen, secretaries, treasurers, and heads of personnel management.

Participants from Delta State, including representatives from Ndokwa East and Ika South Local Government Areas, praised the initiative. Participants described the training as highly impactful and commended Gere Consulting for its commitment to improving local governance.

"This has been an eye-opener for many of us," said a participant from Delta State. "We are leaving here better equipped to ensure accountability and economic growth in our local governments".

Earlier, the Consulting  Firm had also trained legislators of Local Government on skills for Legislative Leadership Development in Benin city which  was attended by a cross sessions of councilors from Delta state .

The workshop is part of Gere Consulting's broader mission to foster sustainable development through capacity-building programs tailored for public sector stakeholders.
