A prominent chief of the Ogbolubiri-Mein Kingdom, Frank Akiefa, has lauded High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, for his efforts in securing and stabilizing the Niger Delta region and the nation’s economic assets through his surveillance company, Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited (TSSNL).
The Ogbolubiri-Mein Kingdom chief, who is also an activist, in a statement made available to journalists in Warri on Tuesday noted with delight that "activities of TSSNL have proffered solutions to environmental degradation caused by illegal refining of crude oil and prevented accidents associated with the practice".
He also commended the management of TSSNL led by the Managing Director, High Chief (Engr) Kestin Pondi, "for keeping the flag flying as manifested in the feat performed by the pipeline surveillance firm".
While thanking President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the NNPC, on behalf of the surveillance company, Akiefa appealed to the Federal Government to "expand the contract scope and funding to enable TSSNL to meet up with their responsibilities of engaging youths from almost all communities in the Niger Delta region".
The statement partly reads, "Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited is commendably managed by patriotic citizens who have the interest of the nation and its economy at heart.
"This is manifested in the way the private security surveillance firm has been combating head-long crude oil theft, pipeline vandalism and, in effect, successfully reducing piracy in the region.
"Tantita is working hard to achieve a huge improvement in the nation's crude oil production.
"I urge the people of the Niger Delta to further support the initiative. Tantita will keep the record of engaging the youths of the Niger Delta to secure the nation's assets from oil thieves and will continue to transform and improve lives through creative programme support and youth engagement".
