Political Rascality of Veronica Ogbuagu against Gbagi in Catholic Church: Legal Action Looms

A political support and pressure group, Gbagi Solidarity Movement, GSM, has berated the Former Delta State Commissioner for Education, Dr Veronica Ogbuagu for displaying what it described as a total lack of decorum and civility during the Installation ceremony of the new Bishop of Warri Diocese, Rt. Rev. Anthony Ovayero Ewherido, on Thursday, 9 February 2023.
The group revealed that, after the ordination of Rt. Rev. Ewherido, it got to time for holy communion, the Social Democratic Party, SDP, Delta State gubernatorial candidate, Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi and the All Progressives Congress, APC, Governorship candidate for Delta State, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, joined others in line to receive holy communion from the Priest.
They stood next to each other with Agege at the front, he received his communion and Olorogun Gbagi was next to receive the Communion. Suddenly, there was political acrimony taken too far, in a video, Veronica Ogbuagu was seen instructing the presiding Priest not to allow Gbagi to partake in the holy communion, she went as far as deliberately raising her hand on Chief Gbagi's head even trying to push him.
The group said; "Veronica Ogbuagu's presumptuous act was reproaching and disgusting even to the church, her misdemeanour was nothing better than the conduct of local mannerless market women.
"Veronica Ogbuagu who ought to be exposed enough to show respect and decorum was the one seen to be carrying out someone's dirty political job. She has abused her character and destroyed what motherhood should represent
(In the video).
"The Catholic Church however did not disclose why it had denied Gbagi the Holy Communion on Ogbuagu's instruction to the priest. However, there are records that, Gbagi is a lifelong Catholic member.
"Sadly, it was seen as a lowering of Standards, if the priest was acting on Ogbuagu's instructions because the holy Communion signifies oneness with God, each other and the Church. All actions in the church should not be politicaliticised.
"It was expected that a priest should minister to those souls entrusted to his care and that he must do so without political considerations.
"Gbagi solidarity movement deems it fit to remain unjudgemental over what seems to be a clear sin of conspiracy to profane the sacrament with pretentious public piety just to score some political points.
"The questions to be asked are;
Is Gbagi not a Catholic?
Gbagi was born in St Elizabeth hospital Sapele and was baptized and conscripted into the church by Father Oghenejodevabaka who is a relative of Mrs Ogbuagu,
"Gbagi has taken holy communion as far with Great Pope John Paul the II (37 years ago) and it is at the Vatican that gbagi,'s first son during that mass between 6 - 7 o'clock mass played with the pigeons symbolises the presence of the Vatican that the son started working after that mass with Pope John Paul
"It is therefore a thing of shame that a supposed Catholic could belittle herself to the level of taking political acrimony to such shameless height.
'Premeditatedly, Veronica Ogbuagu stage-managed it right from Sapele at the Anglican where they both politically clashed with Gbagi who is blameless and does not lie like their own candidate rather, Gbagi was prepared to take a photographer with her candidate or principal.
"Veronica Ogbuagu is not a better Catholic than Gbagi, it was needless for Gbagi to beg to be a Catholic or for holy Communion.
"If Veronica Ogbuagu is not called to explain why she had to raise her hand on the head of Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi on that occasion, Gbagi Solarium Movement Would CONSIDER NECESSARY LEGAL ACTIONS".

Gbagi Solidarity Movement.
