The vibrant community of Oporoza, Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West Local Government Area, Delta State is buzzing with excitement as the much-anticipated Amaseikumor Festival 2025 officially commenced, drawing thousands of delegates, tourists, spectators, worshippers, and invited guests from across the globe.
This year’s festival promises to be a spectacular celebration of culture, tradition, and unity, showcasing the rich heritage of the Gbaramatu Kingdom.
The Amaseikumor Festival 2025 begins today, Saturday, April 19 and runs through April 25, 2025. A week of deep tradition, unity and worship.
The streets of Oporoza is filled with a diverse crowd, eager to partake in the festivities. The festival, which is celebrated annually, is a significant event for the Gbaramatu people in the Niger Delta region, marking a time of thanksgiving and cultural expression. This year, the festival is expected to attract an unprecedented number of visitors, leading to a remarkable boom in local businesses.
As the festival commenced with the arrival of guests to observe the Ibolomobo-ere Ziba Opuoru rites, Local vendors and artisans have also benefited from the influx of visitors, items lining the streets. “It’s the busiest we’ve ever been,” said a local trader.
